VERIFICATION OF THE SELECTED PREDICTION METHODS IN SLOVAK COMPANIES

Nowadays the issue of companies' bankruptcy is very actual topic not only in Slovakia but also abroad. Financial analysts are looking into the possibility to predict of companies crisis by using prediction methods of financial analysis ex-ante. The aim of the article is verification and comparison of results of the selected prediction methods in a group of Slovak companies in year 2009, 2010 and 2011. Group of companies contains six Slovak companies. In the introduction of the article we define the theoretical aspects of prediction methods. Comparison of results of prediction methods and their verification are a major part of the article.

EFFICIENCY MEASUREMENT OF REGULATION SYSTEMS OF CHOSEN EU COUNTRIES: EFFECTS OF BANKING UNION IMPLEMENTATION

This article investigates the efficiency and potential effects of establishing European banking union. We build on recapitalizing banks model introduced by Freixas (2003) and Schoenmaker and Siegmann (2013) to capture the efficiency improvement of resolution over banks in distress. Our data contains Europe's Top 27 banks by their level of equity. Mathematical evidence suggests efficiency improvement of resolution mechanism in all of analyzed economies in referenced years (2005, 2007, 2009 and 2012). Discrete event simulation is a modern tool for analyzing complex manufacturing, supply, communication and other business processes. This article aims to describe the difference in the perception of the benefits of simulation between a business that uses this tool and a business where this tool is not available for managers. Conclusion of this article expresses the level of benefit from using simulation in these positions, eg in relation to the project budget, flexibility to changes, etc., in context of managerial functions according to Fayol.
