EVALUATION OF EXTERNAL STRATEGIC ANALYSES BY AHP METHODTerezie BartuskováActa academica karviniensia 2015, 15(2):18-30 | DOI: 10.25142/aak.2015.015 Strategic analysis is the first step of strategic management. There are many methods of strategic analysis which are used for external and internal environment description. The paper is focused on SWOT analysis, which is the most frequently used method and which enables synthesis of partial results of external and internal analyses; special attention is given on the external analysis. In the paper the proposal of the evaluation is suggested and on this basis external part of SWOT matrix, which consist of opportunities and threats, is created. For the evaluation the method of analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is used and this methodology is applied on the data of the selected company. Opportunities and threats that have been found by this methodology are compared with results obtained by the company management. |
ESTIMATION OF THE EFFICIENCY OF SLOVAK COMMERCIAL BANKS BY THE DATA ENVELOPMENT ANALYSISIveta PalečkováActa academica karviniensia 2015, 15(1):130-140 | DOI: 10.25142/aak.2015.011 This paper estimates the efficiency of the Slovak commercial banks during the period 2004-2013. We applied the non-parametric Data Envelopment Analysis on the data of the Slovak banks. We simultaneously use two alternative specifications of DEA approach, specifically CCR model and BCC model that differ in returns to scale assumption. The results of DEA models show that the average efficiency computed under the assumption of constant returns to scale ranges from 75 to 92% and the average efficiency estimated under the assumption of variable returns to scale ranges from 91 to 98%. The average efficiency was increasing during the period 2004-2007, but the average efficiency decreased in the period 2008-2012 as a result of the financial crisis. We can see the decrease of total loans and net interest income in the balance sheet of commercial banks during the period 2008-2012. The most effective banks were Vseobecna uverova banka, OTP banka, Privat banka and Slovenska sporitelna. |
MOZNOSTI POUZITI ANALYTICKYCH METOD V LOGISTICKE ANALYZE REGIONUJosef BotlíkActa academica karviniensia 2011, 11(1):25-36 | DOI: 10.25142/aak.2011.003 The article deals with the description of analytical methods suitable for analysis of logistical systems. The description is focused on a wide range, starting with a general description of analytical methods, gradually specifying methods suitable for logistics and finally outlines new methods of analysis fit for logistical systems. Below the article specifies the basic concepts of research, the general description of the approach to research, the description of research methods and their applications, the description of research methodology focusing on logistics and the resulting description of the methods used in logistics. The aim is to summarize the general outline of the methods follow the link between the solutions of exclude logistical problems and special matrix operations applied to the apparatus of Petri's networks. |
